Some experts say that poker is a game of failures like baseball. You swing and miss or swing and hit. Cards are like pitches and you get some opportunity to be selective. Well in both games, your goal is to fail as little as possible. When you make a loose call with a very marginal hand, you failed to make the right decision. When you do it out of position, that’s another failed decision. Even if you hit the flop hard, those failures of judgment will add up and ultimately you’ll fail.
