Getting maximum value from a nut flush
In limit poker when you have a suited ace you want one or two players in the pot with you drawing to second best flushes. To increase the likelihood of this, it’s usually best not to raise preflop with anything other than AK suited. It may appear that with other players in the hand, your odds of hitting your flush decrease. That’s untrue as their suited cards have no way of helping you hit your hand as they do not go back in to the deck; they go in to the muck.
