Question: Why is position so important in Hold’em? Answer: This question is very deep, but here’s a very basic answer. If your opponent has two unpaired hole cards, they’ll flop a pair about 1 in 3 times. The 2 times he misses, you have the opportunity to bet and he’ll have a tough time calling. If your opponent has Jacks or below, the flop will bring an overcard more often than not.
